Vinyl DJ, DJ Natural Nate® | Professional Vinyl Turntable Artist

THE VINYL STANDARD

DJ Natural Nate® has performed exclusively on vinyl since 1996, developing a mastery of analog turntablism that culminated in a verified world record and a Breakspoll Top 50 world ranking.

27+ YEARS ON VINYL

FIRST PERFORMANCE 1996 · WORLD RECORD 2010

Breakspoll Top 50 · Verified World Record Holder

DJ Natural Nate® (Nathaniel R. Lemieux) began performing on vinyl in 1996, before digital DJ software existed as a mainstream option. Every set, every mix, every performance since then has been rooted in the physical relationship between needle, groove, and hand.

Over 27 years of vinyl performance, that relationship has produced a Breakspoll Top 50 world ranking, four original scratch techniques, and a verified world record: 86 tracks mixed in one hour at 133 BPM with no sync, no BPM counters, and no digital assistance of any kind.

Vinyl is not a nostalgic choice. It is a technical discipline, one that demands ear training, hand coordination, and a depth of musical knowledge that no software can replicate.

THE TECHNICS STANDARD

The Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210 are not just turntables, they are the instrument of record for professional vinyl DJs worldwide. Their direct-drive motor, precision pitch control, and legendary durability make them the only choice for serious vinyl performance.

Direct Drive Motor

Instant torque and consistent platter speed: essential for manual beatmatching and scratch technique.

Precision Pitch Control

The ±8% pitch slider allows fine-grained tempo adjustment by ear: the foundation of manual beatmatching.

Built to Last

Technics turntables have been in continuous professional use for over 50 years. DJ Natural Nate® has performed on them since 1996.

VINYL GENRES

DJ Natural Nate® performs across a focused spectrum of electronic music, all rooted in the breakbeat tradition and all performed on vinyl.

Breakbeat

The foundational genre: syncopated drum breaks, heavy bass, and complex rhythmic structures. DJ Natural Nate® has been a Breakspoll Top 50 ranked breakbeat DJ for multiple years.

Electro Bass

Deep, driving bass lines over electro-influenced drum patterns. A genre that rewards technical precision and musical knowledge in equal measure.

Electro Breaks

The intersection of electro and breakbeat: high-energy, technically demanding, and perfectly suited to vinyl performance at 133 BPM.

Old School Electronic

The roots of the tradition: early electronic music that established the vocabulary that all subsequent genres built upon. Performed with the respect it deserves, on vinyl.

THE WORLD RECORD

86 TRACKS · 133 BPM · ONE HOUR · VINYL ONLY · NO SYNC

April 29, 2010, The-Lost-Art™, Verified World Record

On April 29, 2010, DJ Natural Nate® set a verified world record by mixing 86 tracks in a single one-hour set at 133 BPM, performed live on The-Lost-Art™, on vinyl, with no sync button, no BPM counters, and no digital assistance of any kind.

Every transition was performed manually, by ear, in real time. Every record was a physical vinyl record. Every beat was matched by hand. The record was documented, verified, and archived: a permanent testament to what vinyl performance at the highest level looks like.

This is the vinyl standard.

VINYL CULTURE

Vinyl DJ culture is not nostalgia. It is a living tradition: a set of skills, values, and standards that define what it means to be a real DJ. The physical act of cueing a record, matching a beat by ear, and blending two tracks in real time is a discipline that cannot be automated or shortcut.

DJ Natural Nate® has spent 30+ years preserving and advancing that tradition, not by rejecting technology, but by demonstrating what is possible when a DJ commits fully to the analog craft. The world record is proof. The Breakspoll ranking is proof. The four original scratch techniques are proof.

Vinyl culture is worth preserving. DJ Natural Nate® is one of the people preserving it.
